As kiteboarding diversifies, Airush has focused on developing various core, rail, and laminate technologies to ensure the best strength-to-weight ratio in each product.

New developments on high volume boards, such as Flytech Construction, ensure we can offer reduced weight in higher volume boards such as the Converse and Square series. In lower volume products such as the Protoy, where massive amounts of flex and damage tolerance are required, we have developed the definitive spinal core.

As offspring of these two extremes, the P-Core and X-Link constructions offer a combination of performance characteristics to meet the demand of each specific board.





RAIL Technology

ABS Rails
Featured on our X-Pact, Protoy, T-3, Airforce and Decoy boards, ABS rail technology is based on Snowboard construction and provides an extremely durable rail ideal for aggressive freestyle riding and all-around abuse.

Seamless Rails
Seamless rail technology is ideal for boards where a softer or tucked rail is required. Tucked rails offer improved wave riding and are more forgiving.

Core Technology

X-Link PVC Core
One of the secrets to combining perfect flex and a bombproof construction is our PVC core. With its sophisticated formulation, our X-Link PVC core combines high resistance against shear and compression loads with dynamic toughness. This primary performance characteristic allows the board to flex over and over again without the core material breaking down.

Dynamic Flex Control
In a fanatical year of focusing on flex characteristics, we have fine-tuned each board to offer the most responsive and dynamic flex configuration to suit each rider style. Thanks to our unique X-Link PVC core, we have been able to focus on perfect, dynamic flex without concern for critical or long-term core failure. We achieve each flex configuration by using a variety of unidirectional, biaxial, and exotic cloths to either limit or stimulate flex at varying sections of the board.

How much flex do you want?
Too much board flex is not always a good thing. Riders who are heavier or ride more overpowered generally prefer a slightly stiffer board. Riders who are lighter or prefer to ride with slightly less power normally prefer a more flexible board.





Core Cell/Spinal Core Construction

Only used on our Protoy, the new Spinal core features a unique Linear Foam core for unparalleled damage tolerance and sheer force strength. This is combined with a blend of unidirectional and biaxial laminate for perfect flex, response, and durability. A combination of wood and glass reinforcing is used around the heel area. Airush is proud to introduce this supreme performance foam to production kiteboarding





Flytech Construction

The Flytech construction is most suitable for high volume kiteboards due to its low density and, therefore, low core weight. The lightweight core is combined with unidirectional and standard glass. This ensures the boards remain as light as possible and still survive the abuse.

The Flytech construction allows us to feature a tucked rail shape, which is more forgiving and ideal for entry level and surf oriented products.





Biotech Construction

New for 2006, the Airush Biotech construction is a spin-off from snowboard technology where a vertical wood core sandwich is combined with a stepped construction and an ABS rail. Wood cores have long been renowned for their feel and smoothness, so we combined this with a triaxial construction ensuring awesome flex, response, and durability. A PPT layer on the bottom and deck enhances the durability without limiting the flex characteristics.

P-Core Construction

We developed the P-Core construction for all-around freeride performance. This features a unique combination core that features dual density foams optimized to offer the best combination of reduced weight and strength. This is combined with unidirectional and biaxial cloth to ensure a perfect combination of flex and durability. For even greater durability, a combination of wood and glass reinforces the high-impact heel areas, and longitudinal glass reinforces the rail edge. A PPT layer on the bottom and deck enhances the durability without limiting the flex characteristics.





X-link LT Construction

Our premium construction melds perfect flex and bombproof construction with our X-Link PVC core. Boards featuring our X-Link LT construction combine high-density core, unidirectional, and biaxial cloth together with wood reinforcing in the high-impact heel areas. A full top and bottom rail wrap allows for a soft, hand-shaped rail, ensuring the board is more forgiving and stable to ride.

A PPT layer on the bottom and deck enhances the durability without limiting the flex characteristics.





X-Link ABS Construction

Our unique X-Link ABS construction combines the perfect flex and strength characteristics of our X-Link PVC core with a virtually indestructible ABS rail. The ABS section is inset into the laminate and forms a "grindable" rail that can withstand significantly more abuse than a wrapped rail construction. This construction uses a combination of unidirectional and biaxial cloth together with asymmetrical wood reinforcing in the high-impact heel area.
